📅 February 20, 2027 – February 21, 2027
About this course
16 RACE-Approved CE Hours | 11 Hours Hands-On Wet Lab | 2 Days | Towson, Maryland Move beyond routine extractions and develop the surgical judgment and technical skills needed for more demanding oral cases. OS2.5 is an intermediate-level veterinary oral surgery course for practitioners already comfortable with routine dental extractions who want substantially more hands-on experience with difficult extractions, advanced soft-tissue management and oncologic oral surgery. Over two intensive days, participants combine focused instruction with 11 hours of wet-lab training at individual, fully equipped workstations under direct faculty guidance. Clinical areas include: Complex canine and feline surgical extractions involving challenging anatomy or pathology Strategies for ankylosis, retained roots, tooth resorption and difficult surgical access Alveoloplasty, coronectomy and advanced mucoperiosteal flap techniques Pedicle flaps and tension-free closure of larger surgical defects Feline full-mouth or quadrant extraction strategies Recognition, diagnostic workup and biopsy of common oral masses Oncologic surgical planning, margins and treatment strategy Hands-on mandibulectomy, maxillectomy and other fundamental oncologic resection techniques Prevention, recognition and management of oral-surgical complications Why ADTC? Skills this technical require repetition and individualized correction. Participants work from their own stations with dedicated instrumentation rather than rotating through shared equipment. The low instructor-to-participant ratio creates substantial opportunity for direct critique, troubleshooting and discussion of how techniques translate to clinical cases. Who should attend: Veterinarians who routinely perform dental extractions and are ready to progress into more difficult oral surgery. Foundational knowledge of oral surgery and dental radiology is recommended. This is not simply an overview of advanced procedures. It is designed to give practitioners the time, equipment and expert guidance needed to perform, refine and repeat them. READY TO TAKE YOUR ORAL SURGERY SKILLS FURTHER?
