📅 April 30, 2027 – May 2, 2027
About this course
24 RACE-Approved CE Hours | 15.5 Hours Hands-On Laboratory | 3 Days | Towson, Maryland Build the diagnostic and surgical skills needed to progress from routine dentistry into more capable small-animal oral surgery. ADTC’s Oral Surgery 1+2 / Radiology program is a concentrated three-day veterinary CE experience integrating dental radiology, challenging extractions, advanced flap technique, introductory maxillectomy/mandibulectomy procedures and basic jaw-fracture repair. The course deliberately links imaging and surgical decision-making: participants first strengthen their ability to identify and define disease radiographically, then apply those findings to procedural planning and hands-on surgical treatment. Across the three days, participants receive 15.5 hours of laboratory training. Training includes: Dental radiographic technique, positioning and interpretation Recognition of important dental and oral pathology Treatment planning using clinical and radiographic findings together Challenging canine and feline surgical extractions Advanced flap creation, tissue mobilization and tension-free closure Management and closure of maxillary oronasal defects Mucogingival pedicle-flap techniques Introductory rostral mandibulectomy and maxillectomy techniques Basic principles and practical techniques for jaw-fracture repair Prevention and management of common oral-surgical complications Designed around procedural repetition: Participants train at individual, fully equipped workstations with direct access to instructors throughout the laboratory portions. ADTC’s purpose-built format minimizes equipment sharing and maximizes the time available to perform, troubleshoot and refine each procedure. Who should attend: Veterinarians seeking a substantial progression beyond routine dentistry and basic extractions. No formal prerequisite is required. This course is designed to connect diagnosis, planning and surgery so participants return to practice with a broader range of procedures they understand—and have already practiced performing.
